How to Shop Spiral Conveyors at PACK EXPO 2022

September 19, 2022

PACK EXPO 2022 promises to be packed with conveyor solutions. If you’re new to spiral conveyors or would like to narrow the viable options for vertical conveyor solutions quickly, this guide will help you hone the important questions to ask.

What elevation change can it make?

The offset between infeed and discharge point is essential when planning new lines or line modifications. Conveyors such as Nercon’s Spirex™ 6” and 18” can be built to specific elevation needs based on the product being conveyed. A larger range of configurations in spirals means more flexibility with an overhead conveyance that frees up floor space and aisleways for traffic and can be worked around existing equipment.

What is the size of the footprint?

If space is at a premium on your production floor, the smaller the footprint the better. Nercon’s Spirex fits into a tight footprint to provide maximum performance in compact spaces.

How does it handle fragile products?

Some conveyor solutions use grippers to ensure products are elevated without tipping or spilling. That’s an effective method for some products, but not all. Spiral conveyors designed with a uniform slope and adjustable angle of incline can handle both fragile and durable products smoothly without risk of damage to the product.

Is it suitable for hygienic applications?

This is a key question if pressure washing is required on your food or beverage line. Nercon’s Washdown Spiral is built for several types of hygienic applications and can handle up to IP 55 rating washdown pressure. Its minimal stainless-steel framework and open construction provide easy access for cleaning, inspection, and maintenance. Its self-draining, bent frame construction eliminates water pooling. If your line requires only a light washdown, that opens up additional options such as Nercon’s Spirex 18” conveyor.

What is the lead time for delivery?

Another key question in today’s accelerated business environment. Lead time on Nercon’s 6” and 18” Spirex conveyors is six to eight weeks, which means your line can be up and running quickly.

The Spirex is part of Nercon’s ProCore® line of highly engineered and competitively priced conveyor equipment. With ProCore, Nercon offers a proven spiral as part of a complete conveyor solution with no loss of quality in the spiral. As with all ProCore equipment, the Spirex is designed for flexibility and can be easily modified for specific line needs.

We invite you to use the Nercon guest pass code, 17J44, at PACK EXPO this year! Stop by booth S-2843 to test your products on the Spirex 6” or 18” or Washdown Spiral and talk with our experts about elevation or descent on your line. You’ll meet the folks who will work with you on your project from start to completion.
