Conveyor Control Systems Help Boost Productivity
Speed and efficiency are two founding principals of manufacturing. If you can't produce a product quickly with ease, the competition surely will.
Conveyors are a critical component to a production line's overall efficiency. The more product that is moving and on the line, the more product there is to ship and sell. Conveyors add speed to production by moving materials in the plant from assembly to packaging—and the faster your conveyor system, the higher the output.
Recent advancements in technology, such as system integration and the Industrial Internet of Things, are helping manufacturers optimize their operations and do more with less.
Nercon Conveyors Keep It Moving
Some manufacturers are using conveyor control systems to not only keep product moving but also to fully integrate and optimize the entire production line from assembly to packaging.
Nercon combines our proven electrical engineering expertise with our latest control technology to provide manufacturers the advantages of an integrated control system to ensure consistent product flow, help eliminate downtime and to stay ahead of the curve.
Full System Approach
Perhaps more important than the conveyor itself is how the conveyor is controlled. If it moves too quickly, you can have bottlenecks. If moves too slowly, you risk wasting time and money running without results. This often occurs when controls are added as a component to a conveyor—the two separate pieces of equipment were not designed to work as a system, and therefore, can actually work against each other.
In addition, the amount of time to integrate new control components on an existing conveyor takes much longer than expected. System integrators will often quote only the essentials and "add-on" as the project endures, which can lead to production downtime and extensive labor and commissioning costs.
Unlike a system integrator, we design both the conveyor and conveyor control system to work hand-in-hand within the larger production line. Manufacturers can rest assured that the control algorithm is formulated for optimal speed and efficiency.
In fact, Nercon holds an extensive history in electrical engineering and is also a member of the Rockwell Automation PartnerNetwork™ program as an OEM partner.
Through the program, we are one of approximately 85 OEMS—and the only conveyor manufacturer—to gain access to a global network of best-in-class distributors, suppliers and local support, available in more than 80 countries and 20 languages, to help solve automation challenges.
Industry Expertise and Support
In the business of engineering and manufacturing conveyor systems for more than 40 years, Nercon has a proven track record of designing and testing complete conveyor control systems. In other words, we know what we're talking about, and know how to make your conveyor and controller "speak the same language" for the best results.
Working with a conveyor supplier like Nercon not only eliminates the possibility that the conveyor and controller won't work together as a system, but it also helps eliminate risks associated with testing, installation and start-up.
We pride ourselves that all conveyors are factory authorized before they ship out to manufacturers. System integrators need to wait for the conveyor to be installed to even begin installing the controls, let alone testing, prolonging start-up several weeks.
When Nercon designs a conveyor control integration, all control functions and conveyors are factory installed and tested together to decrease overall start-up time on site.
We provide advanced control designs, are able to install and test them, and, more importantly, better support our customers with more timely and quality engineering and technical service. Customers can even be onsite to see the solution in operation in person.
Manufacturers will be sure to reap the benefits of increased productivity by having a well-designed conveyor control system.
