Serpentine Table with Changeover Flexibility
July 24, 2012
This Serpentine Accumulation Table was designed for a manufacturer of household cleaning products. A series of precisely calculated chain speeds combined with the proper guide rails facilitates the transport of containers through the serpentine motion of the table. The condensed serpentine path allows for first-in, first-out accumulation.
In this changeover production example, the manufacturer has two sizes of products that traveled through the accumulator during the required dwell time. While containers traveled successfully on the straight section of the serpentine table, the different sizes of product would not conveyor through the turns effectively.
The solution was a specially designed UHMW drop-in rail. In addition, Nercon’s changeover engineering specialists designed storage for the drop in rails right on the table. There are no tools required to put the changeover rails in place.
